The Ford Mustang is a car that needs no introduction introduced by Ford in 1964 to an enthusiastic and inspired audience. Over 100,000 orders were taken in the first 3 months that the car went on sale and the car was both an instant and long term sales success.

It was forever immortalised by Steve McQueen during that famous car chase scene in the 1960's film 'Bullitt' and as a result good Bullitt replica cars are considered by many as the most collectable of all Mustangs.

Silverstone Auctions are pleased to offer this genuine 'S' code 390 big block Ford Mustang built in March 1968. It was originally delivered in Highland Green with Luxury Interior and to GT specification. To call this car a Bullitt replica would be an injustice as the car left the factory in almost the exact specification as the actual Bullitt car itself!

Subject to an American restoration believed to have been undertaken 10 years ago the car was converted to full Bullitt appearance by removing the grill and fitting correct American racing wheels along with other subtle modifications. The car was restored whilst retaining as much of the original car as possible to preserve the rarity of the car itself. As a result the car is still fitted with the original interior and almost every original item that was removed when converting to the car has been kept and is available with the car.

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to purchase possibly one of the most factory correct Bullitt cars other then the genuine film car itself.
