The Lancia Fulvia was available in Berlina, Coupé, Rallye and Sport guises. However it was the Coupé version that proved most popular and gained the racing accolades the Fulvia is credited with. Its handsome and distinctive lines, coupled with the famous narrow angle V4 engine have since contributed to its reputation as a modern classic. Fulvias are notable for their role in motor racing history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. On testing it in 1967, Road & Track magazine summed up the Fulvia as: "a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force." Even more exotic was the Fulvia Sport, Zagato's coach-built version of the coupe, which had a more aerodynamic and exotic body. The 1300cc Sport Zagato engine produced 87bhp with a top speed of 109 mph. Less wilfully eccentric than some of Carrozzeria's other creations, the Fulvia Sport became the best selling Zagato-bodied car ever.

This left-hand drive Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato is finished in a most attractive colour combination of yellow with black leather interior. Buyers should be aware that this lot has formed part of a large private collection and has been stored for some time in a heated environment, as such, some remedial works may be required.
Supplied with UK registration papers, the bodywork and general condition suggest that this Sport Zagato has led a pampered life. Undoubtedly one of the most attractive and striking Lancias ever produced, the Sport Zagatos have seen a steady rise in value over the last 5 years and we believe are still undervalued. As a Zagato-bodied car with effortless flair, this example represents reasonably priced classic motoring combined with stylish Italian looks.
