About Us
Our history:
First formed in 2011, Iconic Auctioneers is a world-class, specialist auction house for the sale of classic, competition, modern and collectors’ cars, modern and historic motorcycles, as well as automobilia and collectibles.
The company was started by Nick Whale, British racing driver and former main dealer for a number of prestigious brands including Porsche and Ferrari. Formerly known as Silverstone Auctions, the company rebranded in August 2023 to Iconic Auctioneers, a name that better reflects the unique and diverse range of our auctions today.
The auction house has become the favoured auctioneer of enthusiasts, collectors’ and investors from around the globe, repeatedly breaking world records at almost every sale. The sale of The Diana, Princess of Wales 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 which sold for £722,500 in 2022 and a 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 which sold for £590,500 in February 2023, have further cemented our international reputation.

Our Team:
Our team are the lifeblood of Iconic Auctioneers - as enthusiasts with years of experience they inherently understand the passion sellers have for their rare cars, motorcycles and collectibles. And as buyers, they also understand the motivations people have for purchasing their dream come true or prized investment. Using their instinct and intuition, they seek out the rarest finds and take great pride in connecting them with buyers. The team has a proven track record of industry leading accurate valuations and has achieved many record-breaking auction prices to date.
As active enthusiasts our team can regularly be found at major automotive events, including Goodwood Revival, Le Mans Classic and Silverstone Classic, whether attending as a visitor or competing. But you will also find them at local car and motorcycle gatherings and events doing what they love best – talking cars and motorcycles!
