1968 Royal Enfield Continental GT 250. An iconic 1960's bike that was supplied with clip-on bars; flyscreen; 5-speed gearbox; dual race-style seat and 'racing' glassfibre tank all as standard. Arguably, one of the prettiest production bikes of its day that was available for provisional licence holders to ride in true cafe-racer style.
Advertised by the manufacturer as "Britain's fastest 250". In excellent condition with only 3 former keepers and just 15080 miles. The last owner had the bike for 22.5 years in a warm garage and covered less than 20 miles (Yes, 20 miles!)
The bike benefitted from a light restoration in 1998 with freshly built wheels on new rims; new points and condenser; new, copper HT Lead and suppressor; new rev. counter; new exhaust downpipe and silencer.
In November 2011 it was treated to a carburettor stripdown and rebuild with new float needle, main jet, pilot jet, gaskets and fuel tap; new battery; oil change; new plug and then MOT'd - having covered less than 20 miles in 23 years!
The bike now runs very well and looks a treat according to it's owner and offered for sale only due to a loss of appropriate storage.
