The Works Ford World Rally Team has been operated by Malcom Wilson's M-Sport company since 1997 and, under his guidance, has claimed 2 outright World Rally Championship titles in both 2006 and 2007. Based at Dovenby Hall, near Cockermouth in the Lake District, the team has achieved legendary status with both the Focus and more recently, the Fiesta. Every successful rally driver aspires to drive for the team which has had many WRC Champion drivers on its books.

In 2004, one of the Works drivers was Markko Martin and in this very car he went on to finish five times in the top ten, including outright wins in both Corsica and Catalunya. The car was retained by the Works and upgraded to 2005 specification for the next season, where it finished three times in the top ten prior to being purchased by our noted vendor, Steve Perez.

An ultra successful businessman and former CBI Entrepreneur of the Year - Steve is the founder and owner of Global Brands International which owns the Vodka Kick drinks company, as well as Kick Energy Drink. He also owns other significant businesses in Chesterfield including Walton Lodge Farm, Bradbury Place, The Malting Apartments and the Casa Hotel. He is also a very successful National Rally driver and has won the BTRDA Rally Title twice - including 2014 - as well as countless International Rallies all over the World in both modern and classic machinery.

Steve purchased this car directly from the Works at the end of the 2005 season and went on to use the car in National rallying in the UK from 2006 until 2009, achieving many outright wins and several National championships. He retired the car in 2009 and kept it for display purposes before sending it back to M-Sport at the end of 2010 for a £50,000 full rebuild and has only used it for demonstration events since. The car has now been returned to it's former Works colours as it finished on the winners rostrum in Catalunya 2004.

It is extremely rare that M-Sport sell genuine Works Rally cars and particularly WRC rally winning cars. Today is a unique opportunity to purchase a significant piece of motorsport history with impeccable provenance and known history from new. Now in 2005 specification and restored to the same condition and specification as it left the factory, it is now ready to use or form part of a significant collection.
