Aspiring to continue to push the automotive envelope, Bugatti’s engineers were keenly looking to the future and began working on the Veyron’s successor soon after the Veyron itself entered production. They knew that the car would need to be faster and more technologically advanced than its predecessor, but Bugatti’s engineers rose to the occasion, and the Chiron upped the ante in every regard. Named after the famed Monegasque racing driver Louis Chiron, it was first introduced to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016.
Having learned numerous lessons with the Veyron through their own testing as well as customer feedback, Bugatti used that car as a starting point and managed to find an additional 300 bhp within their quad-turbocharged W-16 engine. The Chiron was electronically limited to 420 km/h, although capable of faster speeds, but was limited due to the fact that tires capable of handling higher speeds simply did not yet exist in 2016, however, development is continuing apace. Five hundred Chirons were slated for production and currently, around 400 have found homes
Unveiled at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, the Chiron Sport is Bugatti's breathtaking new interpretation of their ultimate super sports car. A firmer chassis setting combined with lightweight components provide even sharper handling and exhilarating agility - without compromising the Chiron's uniquely luxurious character. The Sport boasts firmer chassis settings, an all-new dynamic torque vectoring function and a sport-focused suspension setup and a substantial weight saving has been achieved with redesigned components and new lightweight wheels.
Specially developed for those Chiron customers who were looking for a distinctly sporting character, the Sport combines enhanced handling, astonishing agility and distinctive design features without compromising the Chiron's class-leading standard of comfort.
The limited-edition Chiron Sport “110 ANS Bugatti” celebrates Bugatti’s remarkable 110-year history and is an homage to Bugatti’s heritage and its home in Molsheim, France.
The body and front end are made from Steel Blue Matte exposed carbon fibre. The same steel blue paintwork, produced in a special complex process, also shimmers at the rear of the car subtly emphasising the unmistakable two-tone colour scheme reminiscent of historic models. Covering the entire underside of the rear wing, the French flag proudly displays Bugatti’s origins. Matt black wheels covering blue brake calipers complete the main exterior revisions. Inside, the car features tricolour stripes down the headrests and backrests of the two-tone blue leather and Alcantara seats. The recently added 'Sky View' glass panel roof, optional on the standard Chiron, is also made standard, whilst a solid silver medallion mounted on a carbon fibre plate is fitted to the centre console. The model's mechanical make-up is identical to that of the regular Chiron Sport and the 1479bhp, quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine makes it good for a 2.5sec 0-62mph time and a top speed limited to 261mph.
We are informed by the consignor that this remarkable, left-hand drive, Chiron Sport 110 ANS has just left the factory and has come straight to our auction. Quite simply an amazing opportunity.
