Ascari Cars Ltd. was founded in Dorset in 1995 and introduced its first car, the FGT, in the same year. The company took its name from Italian racing driver Alberto Ascari, who was the first double Grand Prix world champion. Following the announcement of the FGT, the company was purchased by Klaas Zwart, a Dutch entrepreneur and racing driver. Zwart took the FGT into competition, and the company would go on to produce a road version, the Ecosse, which was unveiled in 1999. In 2000, the company was relocated to Banbury where a brand-new 45,000 square-foot facility had been constructed (now Haas F1) to enable Ascari to begin work on developing its new road car, the KZ1, and to continue development work on their Ascari 410, Le Mans Prototype.

The 410 was based on the Lola T92/10 Group C car powered by a 4-litre Judd GV4 V10 engine and was used in European and International Sports Car racing events. In 2002, it was renamed the Ascari KZR-1 and shipped to the United States to compete in the American Le Mans Series, before returning to Europe and enjoying success in 2003.

The 410 features a carbon-fibre monocoque, double wishbones, push-rod, actuated coil springs and dampers and was powered by a Judd GV4, 3,997cc, V10 engine with a 6-speed sequential manual box.
The package on offer today includes a complete Race Car (Chassis 001), 2 x Rolling chassis (002 +003), Spare parts, Body spares, moulds, 2 gearboxes + spares, and all necessary tooling to re-manufacture everything. Basically, all you would need to run a team of two or three of these cars.

Naturally, the list is huge and full details regarding the package contents, viewing arrangements in Spain, import requirements and tax implications are available from your consignor, Richard.
