DESCRIPTION
Introduced in 1967 the Ford Escort Mark I was a success in many parts of Western Europe and in the UK it was the highest selling car during the 1960s. In 1974, less than six years after the car's UK introduction, Ford announced the completion of the two millionth Ford Escort, a milestone unmatched by any Ford model outside the USA.The Escort, in various guises, went on to become one of the most successful rally cars of all time. The Ford works team was practically unbeatable in the late 1960s and early 1970s and, arguably the Escort's greatest victory was in the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally when the winning car was driven by Finnish legend Hannu Mikkola.
"REP 623M" is an original MKI Mexico that has clearly been well maintained since registration in 1974. The odometer shows an unwarranted 23,000 but is presented in excellent condition. Externally the paintwork is very good and showing no signs of rust or corrosion. The rare factory Sundym tinted glass is fitted all round.
The inside of the car is of period specification, the Custom Pack cloth and wood trim is in good condition with no rips or tears and a Motorola radio and 8 Track is in situ and working.
The engine appears to be a fast road specification 1600cc with ported head, fast road cam and twin Webers. Mated to this is a Ford "Type 9" five-speed gearbox.
"REP 623M" is a very good example, supplied with a fresh MoT and ready to be enjoyed, or put away as an investment.

Any cars not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our EM Rogers storage facility in
Northampton for a fee of £150 plus VAT. Storage will be charged at £10 plus VAT per day from Monday 2nd August onwards.
Motorcycles
Our motorcycle transport partners, Moving Motorcycles, can assist with collection and delivery.

Any motorcycles not collected by 3pm on Monday 2nd August will be taken to our transport partners facility in Northamptonshire for a
fee of £110 plus VAT, including 3 days storage. Storage will be charged at £5 plus VAT per day thereafter.

Automobilia can be collected from The Wing over the weekend or Monday morning between 9am
and midday by prior appointment. After this time it can be collected from our offices in
Warwickshire or shipped to you at your expense.
