This 1984 Range Rover Classic is owned by our private vendor and used exclusively as his luxury tow vehicle when taking his racing Lotus Elite around the legendary race circuits of Europe.

It features various ‘Works’ upgrades, including a 5-speed gearbox, air conditioning, electric windows, power steering, heated rear window, central locking. It also has full beige leather trim, heated front seats, ventilated front brakes / larger callipers, aluminium wheels, MSD electronic fuel injection, MSD ignition both ECU controlled and controllable, a stainless steel exhaust system with race manifolds, aluminium radiator with upgraded fans, halogen lights, Lucas spotlights and a tow bar.

Supplied new to Switzerland, the last recorded keeper between 2009 and 2013 is a Mr J Jansen of Holland. The car was imported to Holland in 2009 by Mr Jansen, who was a coachbuilder in a Dutch restoration company, specialising in Alfa Romeo. The Range Rover was his private project and had covered just 70k km only, nevertheless, he decided to undertake a ground-up restoration which lasted between 2009-2013. He rebuilt the body and reassembled the car himself, using a specialist to rebuild the engine and supply a new 5-speed gearbox. The car was bare metal repainted in its original Lincoln Green, just a shade darker, which Mr Jansen preferred, with re-chromed bumpers and new rubbers etc. He also installed a new liquid gas conversion to reduce running costs. When the car was finished, the Dutch government changed the regulations for classic cars and prompting Mr Jansen to sell the car just 1,000km after being finished and its next owner was based in Potsdam, Germany.

The car obtained full historic vehicle approval in 2014 (30 years of age) and allocated the registration number: PRR 35H. Our vendor then removed the liquid gas tank installation and returned the car to petrol drive only, also fitting a new old stock steering wheel. In 2016, a major second restoration and upgrading process was started, as some small rust bubbles on the doors were discovered. The chassis was cleaned and repainted, the rubbers and body mounting bolts were renewed, the door skins repaired and repainted, any evidence of the liquid gas installation was removed and rust prevention was applied. Further attention included better front brakes, enhanced shock absorbers, a steering shock absorber, the axles were repainted and all fluids renewed.

Not stopping there, our vendor then fitted a new full-flow SS exhaust system, new air-con compressor, new alloy radiator with upgraded fans, new manifold, new electrics with modern fuses, and MSD electronic fuel injection and electronic ignition (both ECU controlled and programmable).Other work included seat heating, a Becker Radio CD with built in navigation, a new rear window and frame, and better lighting including instruments etc. All invoices are available and testify the significant monies invested in the car. The car has now covered 112,000 km, so some 40,000 km during the last 8 years.

It was only used for towing the trailer with the Lotus Elite to and from racetracks and is now for sale because racing activities have stopped.

The car is being sold in absentia and is available to be viewed in Berlin, Germany. There will be no import VAT due for buyers in the EU.

Now that the UK has left the EU, import VAT at 20% will be payable by buyers importing this vehicle from Germany to the UK at the time of import. It is the responsibility of the buyer to settle these additional charges. Please contact our transport partners, EM Rogers, if you would like assistance with shipping.
